Afrioceans conservation alliance

Afrioceans conservation alliance

AfriOceans Conservation Alliance is a non-profit organization based in Cape Town, South Africa. Started by Lesley Rochat in 2003,
AOCA works with the local communities of South Africa to raise awareness about the many threats that Africa's oceans face--and, more importantly, how people can become educated and make a difference. Through their creative and purposeful outreach campaigns and educational engagement opportunities, AfriOceans catches the attention of people from around the world and is leading the way in marine conservation.

Lesley Rochat is the "Shark Warrior"! Her love and sheer passion for sharks and marine conservation is unparalleled, and has given her the chance to travel all over the world to speak about the importance of sharks and how we can help them. From being a TedX speaker to filming documentaries,
Lesley is following her passion at every moment and instilling a love for the ocean in all those around her.

I have had a personal experience with Lesley, as the spoke in a Zoom call at my school to teach us about her field of work: I have never seen anyone who loves their job as much as she does while also giving her listeners the confidence to step into the world around them and embrace it.
She is energetic, encouraging, a role model for many, and a true world changer.
