The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee
The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee is a safe, beautiful refuge for Asian and African elephants coming out of captivity. Founded by Carol Buckley in 1995
and now sitting on 2,700 acres of natural land, the Sanctuary is really making a difference. When an elephant is captive,
it is separated from a herd and is forced to live a solitary lifestyle--which is not normal for these animals!
Thus, The Elephant Sanctuary is here to provide retired zoo/circus elephants with a new life.
